Castello del Trebbio
In the heart of Chianti Rùfina, a few kilometres from Florence, Castello del Trebbio guards more than 800 years of history. Founded in 1184 by the de' Pazzi family, it is today a wine and farming estate led by Anna Baj Macario and Stefano Casadei, where history, terroir, innovation and sustainability come together in a single project.
The Biointegrale® philosophy is its founding principle: a model that treats the land as one harmonious, interconnected system, expressed in the organic management of the vineyards, the protection of biodiversity, the use of renewable energy and the careful restoration of the buildings.
The wines tell of the identity and elegance of Chianti Rùfina: alongside Sangiovese, the area's leading variety, stand Trebbiano, Merlot, Syrah and Riesling. In the cellar, traditional methods, research and the use of terracotta amphorae bring out the authentic expression of the grapes and of the land.
Besides the organic wines, the estate produces organic extra virgin olive oil with marked nutraceutical properties, pure saffron threads, spelt, preserves and jams according to the season and the harvest.
A supply chain kept entirely in house and a project sustainable in every respect, in which farming, energy, architecture and production become parts of the same ecosystem — devoted to the land, to quality, to ethics and to goodness.
