Scrimaglio
Since 1920 · conventional
The Scrimaglio family, present in Piedmont since the 17th century, was originally known by the name Escrimeaux (swordsmen) and lived in France. Following the persecution of the Huguenots, the Scrimaglio family fled France and came to the Monferrato region. Here they gave their name to an area that still exists today, known as Regione Scrimaglio.
The historic Scrimaglio winery in Nizza Monferrato was founded in 1920, when Pietro Scrimaglio expanded the activities of his father Francesco, a winegrower. After the war the grandsons Franco and Mario, and later the founder's great-grandsons Pier Giorgio and Francesco, consolidated the winery's image and increased its presence on international markets. The Scrimaglio winery is known for having always devoted itself to producing wines in a prestige position.
